Meet Jones! He’s a German Shepherd-Poodle mix who’s all boy! He’s eager to please and has
tons of energy to spare and as you can tell, he has a nose for love!
We’ve been fostering Jones since the end of March, and he’s been so easy to foster. He’s
mindful of his size, and gets along well with our three dogs that are medium and small. We
haven’t seen him around cats, so we don’t know how he would do with them.
The family who had him did a great job with training him. He walks nicely on a leash and his
recall is fantastic. He’s been through basic and intermediate obedience training and with a little
work could easily pass his Canine Good Citizen test.
The German Shepherd and poodle mix give him a ton of energy, so he’ll need someone to give
him plenty of exercise - both physical and mental! He’s a very smart boy who is so eager to
please. He’s eager and willing to learn all the new things you have in store for him!
He is not a good fit for homes with small children. Quick movements and the boundless energy
of a group of children can cause him to react and nip at those who get too close to “his” people.
If your home has older children who are dog-savvy, he should do just fine.
We’ve taken him out in public and he greets people well, and was not reactive at all to other
dogs inside a store. He sat quietly and politely by our side and gobbled all the treats the store
staff brought to him!
Jones is house trained and crate trained. He goes into his crate while we’re at work during the
day and waits patiently for us to come home.
